About
Max Pettigrew teaches on the Media Communications degree in the School of Humanities and Cultural Studies at Bath Spa University. He has a PhD in Journalism Studies from Cardiff University, an MA in Political Communication from City University, and a BA in Criminology from Solent University.
Max is interested in discourse, ideology, political violence, censorship and their relationship with, and representation in, the news media. His PhD research analysed British newspaper representations of the Northern Ireland conflict, specifically the ways in which print media journalists represented the broadcasting ban (1988-1994). He is currently in the process of publishing this research.
