About
I am currently working as a Business Support Manager for the College of Law in Bristol. The College of Law is the UK’s leading provider of legal education and training.
The Bristol Centre opened to students in Sept 2010. The College occupies some 20,000 sq ft on the ground and first floors of Temple Circus – a striking modern office building within a few minutes walk of Bristol Temple Meads Station. The centre features state-of-the-art learning resources including fully specified PC suites and a first-class legal library.
My role involves line management responsibilities for the Business Professionals Team. The team consists of Technical Specialists; Maintenance; Admin; Knowledge Services; Pro Bono; Careers and Marketing. I manage all facilities and Health & Safety aspects of the centre including administrative management of the academic processes and procedures, including examinations. The operational and facilities management aspects of the role also include: budget management; accommodation reordering; strategic planning; consultation and liaison with building contractors and landlords representatives; management of building projects through the commissioning, snagging and defects period.
I have the NEBOSH Cert Health & Safety qualification and provide all H&S training and compliance for my service. I am educated to degree level, and I am trained in ISO14001 as an environmental assessor and auditor and as a PRINCE2 Practitioner. I have a wealth of additional expertise and qualifications including First Aid and manual handling trainer.
As I came to this role from Public Sector HEI, Retail Operations Management and the Ceramics Industry. This diversity offers great breadth and depth of operational expertise across public and private sectors.
